It also advised Devon Oil in its acquisition of exploration
rights offshore the Republic of Ghana.
Some current projects of the Firm include
acting as general legal advisor in Ghana to Anadarko; one
of the joint venture companies involved in the exploitation
of the Jubilee Field offshore the Republic of Ghana.
It is also acting as Ghanaian counsel to
lenders financing an independent power producing plant in
Ghana for the supply of electricity to the Volta River Authority,
the sole state owned distributor of electricity.
It has advised the Tema Offshore Mooring
Limited and Kpone Marine Services Limited- companies engaged
in the operation of the Conventional Buoy and Single Pont
Mooring Systems for the discharge of crude oil and petroleum
products to the Tema Oil Refinery.
The Firm has also been involved in reviewing
various agreements in connection with the sale of oil products.
It has in this regard, acted as Ghanaian counsel to Standard
Chartered Plc in relation to the financing of the Tema Oil
Refinery Limited’s sale of oil products.
Fugar & Co advised Chase Petroleum Ghana
Ltd (a bulk oil distribution and trading company) in its procurement
of a US$ 100 million trade finance facility from Standard
Chartered Plc.
With regard to the water sector, the Firm
has acted as Transaction Advisors for the structuring of legal
and financial arrangements for the water privatization project
in Ghana.
