In response to the needs of our clients, Fugar & Co has throughout the years developed considerable experience and expertise in dealing with a wide range of labour related matters.

The Firm has had to advise on many matters relating to the Labour Act and the Labour Regulations. We have had to act on behalf of our clients with the Trades Union Congress in connection with the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and arbitration.

Fugar & Co. offers advice to foreign and domestic companies on the workings of the industrial relations regime in Ghana with particular emphasis on the responsibilities and obligations of the employer.


Our experience and expertise include drafting and review of employment contracts, consultancy agreements, and conditions of service, employee and staff handbooks setting up of employee provident / trust fund, legal representation in matters relating to wrongful dismissal or unfair termination, various forms of discrimination, redundancy, severance awards and salary claims.

The Firm also provides representation in cases of employment disputes pending before the Labour Commission as well as employment litigation brought in the conventional law courts.

The Firm has on numerous occasions advised in respect of compensation payable to employees.
